Are you up to date on your Yeezy history? Think you know what rare Yeezy sneakers are out there that you could add to your shelf? And what about the ones that will live in infamy without touching a foot?
Yeezy sneakers have been a hit since they started being designed by Kanye West back in 2009. Ever since they have been selling out and some of them have been reselling for wild prices on the internet.
They’ve come out in wild styles, colors, and with a whole host of different partnering companies. Check out some of the more rare Yeezys some of us only dream of seeing, let alone wearing.
When Kanye West first started releasing Yeezy sneakers, they were being bought up nonstop. It began with a partnership with Louis Vuitton back in 2009, when the first sneakers appeared, and began a fashion trend still ongoing.
Kanye then partnered with Nike for a limited number of years, but that ended leaving many sneakers in high demand. Many of the rarest Yeezy shoes are from Kanye’s period with Nike.
Beginning in 2015, he started designing with Adidas, and this partnership has also delivered some desirable choices. The sneakers often sell out the moment they drop, leading people to use bots to secure their own set and adding huge resell pricetags to shoes sold out and hard to find.
1. Red October
These monochrome bright red shoes are many sneakerheads’ favorites. They are striking no matter what you wear, and incredibly rare Yeezy shoes. Red October was part of the Nike Air Yeezy 2s, which means once the Nike partnership ended these only increased in value.
These were never released in stores. And when they dropped online they sold out almost immediately, a common occurrence with many Yeezy drops.

It’s never too soon to start building your collection, and who knows. Your new favorite pair could become one of the rarest Yeezys.
The Nike Air Yeezy Black/Glow is arguably one of the rarest Yeezy shoes, as well as one of the most expensive. They never went on sale for regular customers to buy them. But there was a pair set at $65,000 on eBay in 2016.
This was Kanye’s 1-of-1 pair that was made during his partnership with Nike, and he never wore them. They feature the Nike swoop in white by the ankle and have a glow-in-the-dark sole. These bear a resemblance to the Solar Red and Blink shoes, which are also some of the more rare Yeezys to find.
If you’re trying to find sneakers you have a chance of collecting, it may be wise not to hold your breath for these. With the rarity of one pair available, it’s unlikely to ever even see them in person, let alone own them.
3. Solar Red
Nike and Kanye has the Air Yeezy and Air Yeezy 2 collections before the partnership broke up. Air Yeezy 2s, with only 5000 being made, came in the styles of Solar Red and Pure Platinum. The Solar Red shoe is a great pair of sneakers, mostly black with bright red accents and glow-in-the-dark soles.
4. Nike Air Yeezy 1
Another partnership with Nike leads to some of the more rare Yeezys on the market. For these, you’re looking at Zen Gray, Blink, and Net Tan as the rarest Yeezys of the mix. These came out in 2009 at the very beginning of the collaboration between Kanye and Nike, making them some of the earliest available, and some of the most in-demand for fans now.
These resemble the Black/Glow pair mentioned earlier, so while you can’t get your hands on those you may be able to find a pair of these if you’re willing to payout. The resell value ranges from two to six thousand depending on the pair.
5. Yeezy Boost 350
The Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 is rare in almost all forms. Whether you’re hunting for the Zebra, Turtledove, or Synth (Reflective), you’re in luck if you find them. All three of these have been coveted and costing those willing to pay upwards of $2,000 and more.
While the Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 style itself is not rare, these specific patterns are, since they were made with a limited number, especially the Zebra. Some suspected that Zebra would be restocked in 2021, but only in a few stores in Asia, continuing to limit availability.
These rare Yeezy shoes are sleek, simple, and comfortable. They are more toned down than some of the other styles but will still elevate anyone’s look, especially around those who can recognize their value. If you’re just beginning in the collecting business, these three make great choices to hunt around for.
