Have you been looking after your health during the lockdown? If you have been then well done, keep it up, you’re doing great. If you haven’t been staying on top of your health during this situation however then don’t worry, there is still time to get yourself in shape, eating well and feeling good. My physician Dr. Mark Swain has been so helpful to me during this time and the one thing which he has done that has jolted me into action is to show exactly why it is so important that I stay on top of my health.
For the first month or so of lockdown I was guilty of not doing enough, but here is exactly why I decided to make that change, and hopefully you will too.
The Virus
Aside from older people and those who have pre-existing health conditions, those who have seen the worst of CoVid-19 and those who have sadly lost lives, were those who were obese or very unhealthy. This is of course not to say that not following a strict diet will mean that the virus will take your life, but the fact of the matter is that this is a much more troublesome virus for those who are unfit and unhealthy. You may also be able to fight off the virus quicker if you are healthy and you have a great immune system.
Coming Out Like
I am not a vain person by any stretch of the imagination but when the doctor asked me how I wished to leave quarantine, and gave me the choice of someone who’d ‘put a bit of timber on’ or someone who look lean and mean, I of course chose the latter. This has actually been something which really inspired me, the idea of disappearing for a while and then coming back to society looking better than when I left. If you really think about it, how do you wish to leave lockdown, f you had the choice between the two?
Time on Your Side
The most common complaint for so many people is that they do not have time, they do not have time to prepare food, they do not have time to exercise, they do not have time to do anything that can improve their general health, and now you do. Even if you are still working and looking after kids, there is more time in the day as you are not commuting or having to go to meetings or appointments, which means that there is far more time on your hands to invest just 1 hour of your day into preparing some food and getting some exercise done.
It looks like we may be under these conditions or conditions like this for a while to come yet, which is why now is the perfect time to address how you are living and switch to a much healthier lifestyle going forward.
