If a dishwasher doesn’t drain then it means it’s clogged. It means that water can’t spray water on the dishes in the top rack. Sometimes it’s a piece of food that goes through the filter and gets stuck in the drain hose.

Sometimes the drain hose is just faulty and you need to replace a new one. This will cost you about $20 to $40 and needs little DIY knowledge. Calling a technician will set you back around $150.

Gas Stove

If your gas stove won’t come on its most likely that the igniter has food spills. It might be the chicken stew that boiled over. This is an easy DIY appliance repair, as you only need to locate the ignition.

The location of the ignition is either on top of the stove or under the ceramic strike plate if it’s an electronic stove. Regular cleaning is important so you don’t block the flow of gas.

However, if you notice a gas leak, immediately call a professional as gas is highly flammable. Some plumbers may be able to fix leaking gas pipes but first, confirm their registration.

Don’t you hate the terrible sound a washing machine makes during the spin cycle? Well, that’s an easy DIY repair fix. You only need to screw the legs up or down until the cabinet is level.

Not overloading your washing machine will also help it last longer.
