Time to Bring Your Business into the 21st Century

February 14, 2020

If you are still operating your business like a mom and pop shop on Main Street in Mayberry, it is probably past due to look into how to bring it into the 21st century. Even if you are making a decent profit, you could probably make much more with a few changes here and there. Consider adding one or more of these enhancements to get your business firing away on all cylinders.

Focus on Your Online Customers

Many businesses only operate online and do not have a brick and mortar store at all. It brings down the overhead considerably. You no longer have to rent or pay a mortgage on your building or keep on the utilities and such. In fact, many online businesses operate entirely out of the person’s home. Wouldn’t it be great to contain your business just to your home office or even your garage? The amount of money you would be saving would be huge.

Use Social Media to Your Advantage

Social media may seem like just a place to have minor arguments with others while looking at baby pictures, but you can put it to great use for your business. It is free advertising and marketing! It does not cost you a dime. All it will take is your time. Create accounts on all major social media sites for your company and start making daily posts if possible. Your “Friends” list will slowly start to grow and you will be able to reach out to many more people than you previously thought.

Technology Is Your Friend

How do you keep track of your finances, bills payable, customer management, and things of that nature in relation to your business? Do you do it all on paper or have an old computer that can break down at any moment that contains all of your important records? If that computer ever goes down, it may just take your business with it. Instead, you should use cloud software that can keep track of all of these things for you. Plus, you can access it anywhere in the world and on any device.

One popular business software program is NetSuite. Even if you have no idea how to use your computer that well, you can try a NetSuite training and see if that helps. In a day or two, you will have the ability you need.
