When you are going to visit a new country, you have to get accustomed to the culture and tradition of that country. Actually, staying there for a few days and just visiting the places of interest is not the only thing you can do to know the country. The shopkeeper was poor too, but he wanted to help him. So, he made a soup with pork leftovers and certain spices. The ultimate soup looked like tea. Since then, it is known as pork meat tea. Do you love to eat different types of rice dishes? You have to try this one which is a combination of lots of things on the plate and spices. Though Nasi Lemak is prepared in various ways at a different part of Singapore, the base of this dish is rice, cooked in coconut milk and pandan leaves. The plate must have rice, deep-fried fish or chicken wings, egg omelet, fried anchovies, grilled fish paste, cucumber slices, and sambal, a special type of chili paste. You can find the spicy and the non-spicy versions of this dish. While the spicy version of this dish is served with lots of chilies, the non-spicy version has tomato sauce in it.

This is another noodle dish of Singapore which has its history from the Fujian Province in China. Today, what you will get is the Singaporean version of the authentic Hokkien Mee which is equally tasty. This dish is prepared with white rice noodles and yellow egg noodles which are fried with eggs, shrimps, squids, and bean sprouts. Though different vendors sell a different variation of Hokkien Mee, it tastes best with sambal chili sauce and calamansi that gives a citrusy flavor to the dish.

Satay is kind of kebabs. Grilled over coals, this smoky dish is rich in aroma and taste. You can taste the best satay at the roadside vendors. Though the grilled meat is basically chicken and mutton, the Satay Club will also offer meats, like tripe, beef, ducks, and so on.

  1. Bar-be-cued Stingray

This food can be tasted the best at the street vendors. Here, the stingray meat is cooked in spicy sauce and also complemented with chilies, tomatoes, and shrimp paste. Cooked in these ingredients, this dish is wrapped by banana leaves and grilled before serving.
