Women make up 47% of the country’s workforce. This is an almost 10% increase since 1970. Are you part of this statistic? Are you trying to do it all while trying to have it all?
Home cleaning, working, laundry, school car line, grocery shopping, kid’s activities…
Does it feel like there aren’t enough hours in the day to keep your home neat and clean? Take a look at this cleaning schedule for busy women on the go.
Home Cleaning Tips
- Don’t try to do everything in one day. Break up all the things to do over the course of the week.
- Take ten minutes to straighten up before you go to bed.
- Delegate duties to other family members.
- Prioritize what’s most important to you in the event you have less time from one week to the next.
House Cleaning Schedule
If you’re wondering how to set a cleaning schedule, you came to the right place. There are things you should plan to do daily, twice/week, weekly, bi-monthly, and monthly.
Daily
If your family is like most, you spend a lot of time in the kitchen. Plan to clean the kitchen every day. Wash dishes or put them in the dishwasher, clean countertops, stove, and microwave.
Tidy up your bathroom after showering or bathing.
Put things away after use.
Twice/Week
Run the vacuum. If you have pets, you may need to do this more often.
Do the laundry. Again, if you have a big family or you work out regularly or kids who are involved in sports, you may have more laundry that has to be done more often. This includes washing, drying, folding, and putting away.
Weekly
Do a full cleaning of all of the bathrooms. This includes scrubbing the toilets, sinks, showers, and bathtubs.
Dust the furniture. Use a duster that traps the dust and doesn’t spread it around instead.
Wash the floors, wipe down appliances, and clean the surface of the kitchen cabinets.
Bi-Weekly
Strip the beds and wash the sheets. Do this on one of your laundry days or pick a separate day so as not to overwhelm yourself.
Monthly
Clean out the refrigerator. Wipe down the drawers and shelves once you’ve taken out anything that’s gone bad.
Dust the blinds. Vacuum behind the curtains and under furniture.
