Did you know that we spend a third of our lives sleeping, or at least trying to? If you haven’t made your bedroom a dream to drift off in, then you’re making a huge mistake. Your bedroom design can make all the difference between you feeling right at home or “meh” about the room.
Has this motivated you to make your bed fit for a king? Then keep reading for 4 bed design trends you should get in on!
1. Mount a Headboard
If the wall behind your bed is looking a bit plain, then all you have to do is mount a headboard to spruce it up!
What’s great about this idea is the world’s your oyster. From a simple, lacquered rectangular piece of wood to many geometric panels lined in colorful velvet, there are many ways to mount a creative headboard!
To take things to another level, put some LED lights on your bed headboard. If you turn them on during the daytime, then they can draw people’s eyes to your headboard. And if you turn them on at night, they can function as soft reading lights.
2. Add a Canopy
Do you want to feel like a princess drifting off to bed on a luxurious bed? Then add a canopy! It’ll make your bed feel luxurious, mysterious, and regal, all in one.
These can be beneficial as well. If you live somewhere with lots of mosquitos, then adding a mosquito net style canopy (such as one from www.bambulah.com) is optimal. Not only can you block out those pesky critters, but you can also sleep in style!
3. Get a New Bedframe
Maybe you’ve slept on the cheap and plain metal bedframe you’ve had ever since you were a kid. Not only is it uncomfortable, but it’s also ugly. It’s time to ditch it!
Go ahead and pick out a stately bedframe and a larger mattress to fit it. For example, a sleigh bed is quite elegant, with curved headboards and footboards.
4. Mismatched Pillowcases and Bedsheets
Who says that you have to use every single piece that comes in a bed set? While it can be nice to have everything matching, it can also look boring.
Feel free to dig around in your cupboard or buy new pillowcases and/or bedsheets. Then, mix and match! It’ll be fun to see dark blue bedsheets paired with a bright yellow or polka-dotted pillowcase.
What’s excellent about this idea is you won’t necessarily have to buy anything new. And even if you do, you can keep mixing and matching for endless possibilities.
Which Bed Design Will You Choose?
Your bed design is what you make of it. So while you might enjoy one of the above ideas, don’t be afraid to personalize it and make it your own. That way, you can truly have a bed design that no one else does!
