Why a toner is the key to perfect skin?

Cleansing is something we often overlook in search of miraculous creams and serums. Meanwhile, a good  3-step skin care routine can solve various skin problems. Using a toner is one of its fundaments.

When dealing with problematic skin, we usually tend to search for cosmetics that are dedicated to the problems we  have. Face masks, creams, serums, oils – they all promise a quick improvement. However, it often doesn’t come, which brings some to the dermatologist. During the visit, it often turns out that the skin type we were convinced to have is not the right one. But it’s not the only possibility. The competent specialist will most likely ask you: how is your skin-care routine? How often do you cleanse your face? And what products do you use?

The most common mistakes when cleansing your face

We know, right? The articles about the power of skincare routine are showing up all over as if most girls didn’t really know how to wash their faces. But guess what – most of us don’t! It’s common to do it too harsh or too tenderly and use the wrong temperature of the water – too low or too high. Many confuse the purposes of cosmetic products, which can result in skin problems. A toner is a good example. It often happens that it is treated as the basic product that allows us to wash off the make-up and cleanse the skin meanwhile. That’s a total myth!

Toner – how should you use it?

Toner is an integral element of a skincare routine. However, it cannot replace a gel and oil. The task of toner is not  really to cleanse – you should apply it on already naked skin, with all make-up and other leftovers removed. Using toner allows you to restore the natural pH of your skin, which can be imbalanced by cleaning. Other benefits?

  • It shrinks the pores
  • it gives a sense of refreshment and relief
  • It moisturizes the skin
  • it extra-cleanses

Remember – the toner cannot be in any form a substitute for cleansing gel or milk.

3-step skin care routine – the secret of healthy skin

If you have problematic skin and changing cosmetic products hasn’t helped, maybe it’s time to change your skincare  routine by implementing 3-step skincare? It incorporated three stages of cleansing:

  • step 1 – using milk, oil, or micellar water
  • step 2 – using foam or gel-based on water
  • step 3 – using toner

If prepared this way, your skin will absorb the creams better. You also don’t have to worry about any leftovers of make-up or dirt, which can fill the pores and lead to skin imperfections.
