Best Dishes To Cook Using a Wood-Fired Oven

July 14, 2018

You should feel excited when using a wood-fired oven. There are a lot of recipes that you can prepare using the oven. You just have to prepare the ingredients and decide what to cook first. When you have visitors coming over, they will certainly enjoy the dishes made over an open fire. Here are some of the best foods to cook.

Roasted meat

Obviously, this is meant for roasting. Whether you prepare beef, lamb or pork, the flavour will definitely come out. The juices will also be intact. In every bite, you will really taste all the herbs and spices that were included in the meat. This oven also helps keep the crunch on the outside but the tenderness on the inside. Hence, roasting meat with this oven is really a great idea.

Pastry

You can think of any type of bread and you can bake it in this oven. Not only will it be baked to perfection, the cooking time is also reduced. Using traditional ovens, you only have a limit when it comes to the maximum temperature. With a commercial wood fired oven, you can increase the temperature to a very high degree and you will see your pastry get baked in a matter of 3-5 minutes. Who says you can only order bread from the bakery? You don’t have to leave home to enjoy lovely bread.

Pizza

Without a doubt, wood-fired ovens are perfect if you are craving pizza. You can just call a pizza company to deliver pizza straight to your place, but you have limited choices. Preparing your own pizza, on the other hand, will let you decide on every detail. You can decide how big the pizza crust is and what toppings to have. You can even experiment with the toppings and go crazy. With a wood-fired oven, the crust is totally crunchy while the toppings are moist. The nutrients in the fruits and vegetables are also preserved. This is certainly going to make you feel less guilty about eating pizza.

Corn on the cob

Everyone loves corn. It is even better when you don’t just taste the corn itself, but you can also taste the smoky flavour because it was cooked using a wood-fired oven. Just butter the corn up and sprinkle some salt, and you are good to go.

Roasted vegetables

One of the reasons why a lot of people hate vegetables is because of their distinct taste. They are a bit bitter and difficult to eat. Roasting these vegetables in an oven gives them a different flavour. The vegetables will be more flavourful. The smoky taste will also make these vegetables somehow taste like meat. The bitterness is gone. The herbs and spices used will also be easier to taste.

Aren’t you excited to start cooking? Give these dishes a try using your wood-fired oven. Invite guests to come over and they will be surprised with how fast they can start eating.
