Acne Treatment at Home: 3 Ways to Get Smoother Skin

1. Light Therapy

One of the light options is the Blue LED light which kills bacteria that is related to acne. It works for both mild and moderate inflammatory breakouts. One of the pros is that you do not have to deal with the negative side effects that come with oral and topical medications.

The other light option is the Red LED light which helps speed up the healing process. It also helps fade post-acne dark spots and calms the irritation on the skin. A major pro of Red LED light is that it has shown to also provide anti-aging benefits while improving the elasticity of the skin. Red light therapy for skin tightening is proven to be effective in treating loose skin.

2. Apple Cider Vinegar

Another home treatment option for acne is apple cider vinegar because it helps suppress inflammation that is caused by P. acne bacteria. The natural lactic acid found in this vinegar will also help improve the appearance of any scars left behind by acne.

To apply it on your skin, mix 1 part apple cider vinegar with 3 parts water. If you have more sensitive skin then you can add more water to dilute the vinegar even more. After you cleanse your skin with your face wash, use a cotton ball to apply the apple cider mixture and let it sit up to 20 seconds then rinse with water and pat your skin dry.

You can repeat this treatment 1-2 times per day.

3. Green Tea

Applying green tea to your skin is another way to reduce acne because it helps fight bacteria and reduces inflammation. All you have to do is steep some green tea in boiling water and wait between 3-4 minutes. Then, allow the tea to cool and dip a cotton ball in the tea and apply it to your skin.

You can also opt to put the cooled-down green tea in a spray bottle and spritz it on your skin. Once the green tea dries then rinse it with water and pat your skin dry.
