Staying safe is a piece of advice that stayed through for most of 2020 and made it into 2021. However, staying fit is also important as staying safe. Nimrod Santo, a direct-response marketer, and online entrepreneur is one who takes his physical fitness and mental health quite seriously, and this is evident in his daily routine.
Here, Nimrod Santo shares with us new fitness habits for success in 2021.
How important is it to stay fit in 2021?
If you ask me, staying fit is as important as staying safe in times like this. A lot is going on at the same time in the world. As such, it becomes necessary to imbibe certain fitness habits to stay sane.
Off the top of your head, Nimrod, what new fitness habits would you recommend?
These habits I suggest may not be revolutionary, but they are habits I apply personally and they have been working for me. Three of them that rank the highest are proper nutrition, adequate rest, and consistent exercising.
Do you have special tips for nutrition and rest?
Yes. It is one thing to eat, it is another to eat the right thing. And it is yet another thing to eat the right thing in the right proportion. All three are key to staying fit. As an entrepreneur, there are certain foods like salmon and green tea which I take regularly to stimulate my entrepreneurial creativity.
So, it is quite important to monitor what you eat and when you eat. It goes without saying that stacking up junk food is not healthy neither is late-night eating.
Regarding rest, I’ll like to say that the human body is like a regular machine that overheats when it faces excessive work. I do not think anyone still believes starving one’s self of quality sleep will lead to greater success.
Even billionaires who most of us aspire to be like are reputed to find time to rest properly to stay mentally alert and productive. Even if you cannot afford long hours of sleep at a stretch, you can take one or two power naps during the day.
Nimrod, how best do you think exercising can be adopted into a person’s daily schedule?
The mistake most persons make is setting unrealistic goals when they are just starting out at something. This life principle also applies to exercising. What I suggest is setting small goals which you increase over-time as your exercise threshold increases.
So, you can start with jogging a few miles and increasing the number of miles as you smash your exercise goals. There is a wide range of exercise options – what matters is that you keep your body and mind fit amidst the chaos in the world.
Do you have any advice for people who are looking to channel fitness towards personal success?
You may not be able to smash all your goals in this era but you can make a considerable success if you stay safe and stay fit. Understand that personal success and fitness are intertwined. Pursuing one shouldn’t negatively affect the other.
