Exercise is a fantastic way to stay healthy and happy.
Plus, exercise is proven to increase energy levels, reduce your risk of chronic disease, help with skin and brain health, improve memory, and help reduce pain!
It can also help you sleep better and help with weight loss.
But getting motivated to exercise can be hard, especially if you feel like you have such a long way to go to reach your goals.
Do you need a push and some tips to get you motivated? Here are 5 ways to motivate yourself to get moving!
1. Set Your Goals
If you don’t set clear motivators for what you want to achieve through exercise, it’s hard to know where to begin or what to do.
Ask yourself, what do you want to accomplish by exercising? Do you want to gain flexibility? Do you want to tone your muscles? Do you want to lose a significant amount of weight?
Or do you simply want to reduce anxiety and better your life?
Once you know what your goals are, it’s easy to figure out what you should do. Maybe yoga is what you need to improve flexibility and get rid of pain.
Or maybe you need to lift weights and do cardio to tighten and tone your body. Once your goals are set, it’s easier to make choices as to how you want to exercise.
2. Put Your Workout Clothes On!
If your goal is to start every day with a morning workout, lay your clothes out the night before and put them on first thing in the morning!
Half the battle is being ready to work out, and if you put your clothes on right away, you’ll feel silly taking them off without accomplishing your goal.
3. Eat Healthily
Working out and eating healthy go hand in hand. If you aren’t eating healthy, you won’t enjoy your workouts as much or reap the benefits.
Prepare for each week by stocking your kitchen with healthy foods and delicious treats that won’t make you feel like you’ve ruined all your hard work.
4. Switch up Your Routine
Like anything else in life, exercise can become boring if you don’t switch it up. If you ever don’t feel like going to your yoga class or hitting the gym, opt for a new form of exercise.
Go for a hike or run up and down some big stairs in the park.
Strap on your baby in your Rebozo and go for a rigorous walk. You’ll both be happier enjoying the outdoors and walking is one of the best forms of exercise!
5. Reward Yourself
Rather than having one big goal that will take months to attain, set smaller goals and then reward yourself each time you meet a goal.
For example, if you set a goal to workout 5 days in a row and meet that goal, buy yourself some new workout gear!
Or treat yourself to something sweet that won’t ruin your healthy diet.
Getting Motivated to Exercise Is Fun!
Getting motivated to exercise is half the battle. But once you do it, the possibilities are endless!
Plus, it’s fun. Rewarding yourself with new gear or a massage are exciting things to look forward to. And once you have a few days or weeks of progress under your belt, you’ll feel amazing and want to keep pushing forward.
