Recent reports have suggested that today’s millennial population don’t have hobbies. That trend seems to be seeping into younger generations as well.
Our reaction to that finding is absolute sadness! Without a hobby, what would you do all day with your free time? Sit and watch TV?

To help get some hobby flames stoked in your heart, we’re going to talk to you for a moment about one of our favorite hobbies, collecting!
Collecting is a ton of fun because it creates conditions where you’re always on a scavenger hunt for something new. That continued stimuli can make getting out into the world a fresh new experience.
Below, we touch on 5 of our absolute favorite “what to collect” options!
1. Pins
If you’ve ever been to Disneyland, you know that the pin trading hobby is alive and well. We don’t blame all of those pin traders out there for doing what they do because trading pins is straight-up fun!
Pins come in all sorts of shapes, sizes, and niches. You can buy pins at theme parks or find trading pins online via a wide variety of specialty retailers.
2. Comics
America is obsessed with watching comic book characters take over the big screen. Fewer though have discovered the joy of following their favorite comic book characters in… Well, comics.
No matter which hero you love, Iron Man, Captain America, Superman, etc. etc. etc. There are thousands of fun comics that you can pick up and start enjoying.
3. Video Games
If you already play a ton of video games and are scratching your head wondering what to collect, just collect video games!
We’re not talking about just buying more modern titles from Gamestop. We’re talking about finding rare games on retro consoles, game paraphernalia and more.
4. Coins
Coin collecting is one of the go-to solutions that people come to when wondering what to collect. That’s mostly because there are a lot of ways that you could go with your coin collection.
You could collect old coins. You could collect themed quarters. You could even collect coins from different countries!
5. Classic Toys
Classic toys make for a great collection.
Imagine having a room filled with yo-yo’s, tops, pogs, and everything in between. Your collection room would literally look like a toy store (talk about a childhood dream come true)!
Retro toy collecting can get a little bit pricey given limited supply and toy collectors being rather abundant. Still though, there are some affordable ways to get in on the ground floor of this great hobby.
