We keep seeing people say that nobody saw this pandemic coming but in reality that is not strictly true, because there are many who have been preparing for this all of their adult lives. In fact there are also many companies who cater for these people, known as doomsday preppers, such as Rising S. So what exactly are doomsday preppers and what exactly are they preparing for?
Major Events
The men and women who fall under this category are those who have dedicated a large portion of their lives, time and money on the preparation for a major event which will leave them, or indeed the planet or country, in survival mode. These major events may include a meteorite hitting the planet, a nuclear attack, a global pandemic of biblical proportions, perhaps even an alien invasion. The key here is that they are preparing for the absolute worst case global scenario, ensuring that they are going to be ready for surviving it.
What They Prepare
There are number of things which these people will have prepared and ready, first of all they have a home in a location which is close to a river and roads, so that they can make an escape if that is required. Others will have underground bunkers which they will stock up with years worth of water and food supplies. Some have decided to ensure that their food sources are renewable and have taken to growing their own food or keeping chickens for a constant source of nutrition.
Doomsday preppers will also look to ensure that they are able to keep themselves and their families safe if they are under attack and that is why many will have a wide range of weapons and ammunition, which they are trained to use. They will also have coded language and routes of escape should they find themselves under attack and need to get out.
We have seen that there are also many of these people who actively practice drills in order to get their preparations perfectly in place should the real event ever occur.
Realization
For a long time these men and women have been mocked by others, who suggest that they are spending time and money unnecessarily. It is however this year and what we have seen with regards to the global pandemic which has now made people realize that perhaps those preppers are actually on to something, and maybe the rest of us need to wake up and start making some plans of our own in terms of staying safe should the worst occur.
