Knowing the Difference Between the Different Types of Tires

April 27, 2022

Your vehicle is the one thing that you will want to have running well all of the time. It is the one thing you trust to carry your family safely from home to your destination. And a breakdown or tire issue is the last thing that you will want to happen. So, when it comes time to put a new tire on look for options of cheap tires, you will want to know the difference between tires available for you to purchase.

The Different Options You Have for Tires

Everyone wishes that tires would last the life of the car. But the truth is that the more the car is driven, the more the tires will wear out. When it comes time to choose new tires, here is information that you will want to know.

Knowing all About Highway Tires

Highway tires are used on vehicles that drive long-distance or on the highway more often than in the city. They offer a smoother and quieter ride than other tire options. They are designed to have a long tread life and are resistant to cupping or bowing as the tire ages. They are also good at pushing the rain away from the tire, so hydroplaning is less dangerous. For people that love to drive, this tire option is safe.

The All-Season Tire

This type of tire has all of the benefits of the highway option but comes with more punch. This type of tire can have a tread life of up to 100,000 miles. You will also have tread options to choose from, such as a deep, aggressive tread or one that is moderate and not as rugged-looking. It is essential to have these tires rotated to help add long life to your tires. You will also find that the all-season tire does excellent in the snow and rain. They are designed to be used year-round.

Don’t Forget the Snow Tire

The snow tire is made because of what it is named after. The snow tire has a tread design that affects the ice and snow you may drive on. It is designed in such a way that it helps your vehicle stick to the road in slick conditions. The secret is the rubber used to make the tire and the way the tread is cut out. The drawback to the snow tires is that you will have to replace them about every 35,000 miles.

The Off-Road Tire

The off-road tire is excellent for going places where the road will not follow. You will have excellent traction in the dirt and sand. When the tire is used on pavement, the sound is loud. A driver can tell when another driver has off-road tires on the vehicle by his wheels’ sound. In some areas, the sound is a trademark and status symbol for the driver.

There are a lot of different styles of tires to choose from. You select the right tire for the driving conditions that you deal with the most.
