Are you planning a kitchen renovation and want to factor in kitchen space savers to make the most of the room you have?
A kitchen redesign is a perfect opportunity to organize your kitchen and make it a haven of well-used space.
To get you started, here are 5 remodeling hacks to help you make the most of the kitchen space you have. Enjoy!
1. Hang a Peg Board
Shelves are great and all, and they certainly have their place. But, if you have very limited kitchen space and you’re doing a remodel, you just might want to consider hanging a peg board to maximize your kitchen storage.
Not only can you use pegboard to hang utensils like spoons, spatulas, and whisks, but you can even hang pots and pans to free up more under-cabinet space.
2. Install a Magnetic Knife Wrack
When you’re in the midst of kitchen renovations, a magnetic knife rack is a great kitchen space saver. Just like the peg board, a magnetic knife rack frees up limited drawer space by allowing you to store and dry knives along a wall or backsplash instead.
Not only is this a great kitchen storage hack, but it also makes accessing your knives that much easier. No more need to dry them by hand every time you wash them either.
Simply stick them to your magnetic knife rack and voila!
3. Don’t Forget Your Underside
Just when it seems you can’t squeeze one more item inside your overstuffed cabinets, think again! Well, to be fair, we mean you can still use your cabinets for storage–even if it’s not inside them.
The underside of your cabinets is a great spot to hang hooks for mugs and cups. You might even consider adding magnetic strips along the underside for attaching spices or other metal-topped items.
Not only is this a useful and underused space, but displaying your matching Polish mugs under your cabinet can really give your kitchen a nice fairytale charm.
4. Add Over-Fridge Shelving
If you’re doing the renovations already, don’t miss this opportunity to make the most of the space above your fridge.
This is a perfect spot for storing a lot more than your bread. Why not install a few extra shelves or even storage cubbies above your fridge? You can place everything from cookbooks to cooking spray up there.
5. Swinging Bar Stools
This may be one of the coolest ways to add a little extra space to your new kitchen, swinging bar stools.
If you’ve got a bar or counter where you’d simply love to place some stools, but you just don’t seem to have the room for them, why not install some on hinges?
This allows you to tuck the stool seat away when they’re not in use and still have the fun of extra bar-seating when you want it.
