The Texas Lotto. They say everything is bigger in Texas, and Texas lottery games are no exception in this large state.
There have been other games that have had as high as a $1 billion jackpot recently.
But, what about prizes in the smaller games? How likely are you to win?
This is how to play the Texas Lotto.
Games Available
The general rule is that you either have to pick a certain amount of numbers for your lottery ticket or let a computer randomly generate a set of numbers for you. Smaller games cost $1 to play and the bigger games typically cost $2 to play.
Some of the games available in the state are as follows:
- Lotto Texas
- Texas Two Step
- Texas Cash 5
- Pick 3
- Daily 4
- All or Nothing
The Pick 3 and the Daily 4 are pretty simple, with picking three and four numbers in each game that are single-digit numbers. Both of these run four times per day, and you can add a “Fireball” to switch with one of the numbers to come out and increase your chances of winning.
Jackpots for these games are $500 for Pick 3 and $5,000 for Pick 4. Now, let’s get to the games with some bigger stakes.
Texas Cash 5
In this game, you pick five numbers ranging from 1-35, and there are drawings six days a week (all but Sunday) at 10:12 p.m. CT. The jackpot here goes up to $25,000.
Texas Two Step
This works a little differently than the Cash 5 because while you have to pick five numbers, one of them is a bonus ball. Here, you are also selecting five numbers ranging from 1-35, but you can repeat a regular number with the bonus ball if you wish.
Unlike the Cash 5, there are only two drawings per week. These take place on Monday and Thursday nights at 10:12 p.m. CT. The jackpots start at $200,000.
All or Nothing
This is advertised as the only lottery game where you can actually win a large amount of money by not having any of the numbers. There are four draws per day for six days a week (all but Sunday).
What you do here is pick 12 numbers ranging from 1-24. You win the jackpot by either matching all 12 numbers or not matching any of them. The jackpot here starts at $250,000.
Lotto Texas
Finally, you have the main state lottery game called Lotto Texas. This works similarly to the multi-state lotteries, where you pick six numbers to win the jackpot.
However, the main difference here is that there is no bonus ball, and instead, you are just picking six numbers from 1-54. If you get all six numbers, you win the jackpot that starts at $5 million.
Drawings for this game are three days a week (Monday, Wednesday, Saturday) at 10:10 p.m. CT.
You can keep track of payouts in that game, and more in the link.
