It likely comes as no real surprise that some cultures treat palm trees as religious symbols. After all, they are so grand and exotic-looking that they do in fact seem like they could somehow represent divinity.

Romans also used palm trees for many reasons, which included giving palm branches to soldiers returning from war as a symbol of triumph.

5. They Can Grow Incredibly Tall

Anyone who has ever seen a palm tree close up can tell you they are often extremely tall. In fact, in some regions of the world, they can grow as tall as 197 feet.
