Different situation...

English

Greetings,

I'm male, 51, and have had Fibromyalgia for the last 15 years.  I started using the Zeo to see if I really was "awake" most of the night or if it was just my imagination -- feeling fatigued should have a reason, right?  The results were far worse than I had even considered.

My "deep sleep" averages about 9 minutes per night, and my time spent "awake" averages about 3 hours per night.  Average ZQ is about 25.  I do have some wonderful nights that my ZQ has made it to 50+, but those are offset by nights where my ZQ is 15...

Now my doctor is using the results to try to tailor nighttime medications & suppliments to improve my sleep -- the Zeo makes the results plain to see.  Personally, my wife and I have found that sexual activity is good for an extra 2 hours of sleep, so that's a plus.  I'm also experimenting with the "light & sound" machines to try to calm my mind down with some success.  We have also determined that Fibro pain is waking me up on a regular pattern, based on my body's pressure points on the mattress -- so a memory foam mattress is on the "things to try" list next.  In short, the Zeo makes a great feedback device for managing the nighttime aspects of Fibromyalgia.

I'm married, and it's difficult to manage sleep habits without affecting your partner, so that is an issue with my situation.  I would really like to see the Zeo capable of managing 2 sensors at once, for couples.  Comparing a couple's charts could bring some interesting patterns to light.

Just wanted to place my 2 cents worth out there...

Thank you...

Hi WhidbeyIslander -

Thanks for the post. It's very gratifying to hear that you've been able to gain more control over your sleep with Zeo's help and we appreciate you letting us know. For the sake of anyone dropping by, it's important that I mention that Zeo is not a medical device and is not intended for the treatment of sleep disorders. It's clear that you've taken the right steps by speaking to your doctor, and you should always follow your doctor orders.

Also, thank you for the suggestion on 2-sensors/1-Zeo. We catalogue all of our feature requests to decide what we'll develop next (sometimes based on frequency of request). I'll forward this along to the product development team.

I would be interesting to hear how your sleep changes if/when you switch to a memory foam mattress.

Thanks again,

Derek
