Detecting awake state

English

Jest bought Zeo and tested it for first night. I woke up couple of times, but Zeo did not detect it? Can it be device or headband malfunction? How can I check proper functioning of the device?

Did you upload the data to the site, or are you just looking at the front of the bedside display?

The bedside display is a highly compressed (low granularity) view of the data.  Until you upload it to the site (or use the raw data developer tools and the "R" version of the firmware), you're only looking at the little picture of the big picture. :)

I have the same issue. I bought the Zeo Mobile and used it the last two nights. It didn't detect my waking up either time.

This morning, even though I was awake, it recorded me as being in REM sleep. Looking at the finer granularity data, it does show two bits of 1.5 minutes and 2.5 minutes of light sleep in the course of about 1 hour and 30 minutes of time. The rest being REM. Out of that, I was probably awake for 40 minutes to an hour.

I wonder what the Zeo makes of the state we might call "half asleep."

This was discussed in another thread.  No direct explanation was given.  Clearly, this is a widespread issue.  Given the price point, I am not surprised.  It's not a deal breaker for me yet.
